Is the Yes Men's approach to spread their message about environmental and economic issues effective? They did manage to get a very strong reaction from students, but do you think that they have been successful in swaying the minds of the corporate/upper class?
I think that in today's society there's an expectation for corporate people to just accept what is thrown out on the table before them.
ReplyDeleteSad reality is that while they may want to object, or call it a crazy idea, they'll never stand up to the WTO which is a level above them.
Its like a monarchy thing where the king will chop off your head if you don't behave. NOt the most perfect analogy but you get the idea. They're scared to state their opinions for they've been trained to sit through hours and hours of meetings without a single peep, less it offend their boss for their "bad behavior" and they could possibly be out of a job.
