question(s) inspired by yesmen

the yes men exposed the corrupting nature of large corporations in a humorous way, but how humorous can we be about a situation where the world seems to represent france before the french revolution? has anyone seen who killed the electric car?
how can we eliminate the abusive power of corporations without totally re-designing western society?

it's a really tough call to make considering globalization has both positive and negative effects.

  1. i think lobbying, getting people aware, and showing your dissatisfactions are the ways to go.
I think the single most important thing to do is education. If people are more educated and learn more about different parts of the world they care more.

  2. have you seen the documentory Corporation? highly suggest it, basicly talks about how corporations have the right like a person but if you apply a phycoanalyise to a corporation they basicly are diagnosed as phycopaths, crazy aye?

highly suggest it, really gives you a good understanding of just how stupid the corporate structure is

  3. I agree with Mo, education and awareness are important. However I do think that they are only effective to some extent. A lot of people realize the effects that large corporations like Wal-Mart have on society, but will still shop there. I think it's really up to everyone to take initiative and make wiser decisions about where they spend their money. Ultimately, it is consumer dollars that give corporations their power.
